Name Tag Generator

How to use Name Tag Generator

Everything you need, from names to a printed sheet.

Quick start

  1. Add names: upload a CSV or type them in (section 1).
  2. Design your badge: logo, fonts, colours and background (sections 2–5).
  3. Check the print preview on the right.
  4. Click Print or Download PDF.

1Names

  • Upload CSV: click the upload box or drag a file onto it. The file needs a header row with Firstname and Lastname columns (First Name, Surname and similar also work). Uploading replaces the current list.
  • Type names in: fill in Firstname and Lastname at the bottom of the list and press Add or Enter.
  • Edit: click any name in the list to change it. The badges update as you type.
  • Remove: click × next to a name, or Clear all names to start over.
  • Load sample fills the list with example names so you can try things out.

2Logo

  • Upload Logo / Change Logo: PNG, JPG, GIF or WebP, up to 5 MB. A transparent PNG looks best.
  • Move: drag the logo on any badge. Resize: drag the small square at its bottom-right corner. You can also use the logo sliders in section 4.
  • The switch next to the heading shows or hides the logo without removing it.

3Name text

  • Choose a font, style (weight) and colour separately for first and last names.
  • Other Google Font… lets you type any font name from fonts.google.com, e.g. Lexend.
  • UPPERCASE switches capital letters on or off for both names.
  • Long names shrink automatically to fit the badge.

4Size & layout

  • Badge size: pick a preset (Standard 143.5 × 80 mm, Business card 90 × 54 mm, ID card 86 × 54 mm…) or type any width and height in mm. The box below shows how many fit per A4 page.
  • Gap between: space between badges. 0 mm means neighbouring badges share one cut line.
  • Sliders for logo size and position, name position, and the maximum size of each name. The logo and names scale with the badge.
  • Show dashed cut lines prints a light dashed border around each badge to guide cutting.

5Background & colour

  • Pick a preset badge background, or the rainbow circle for any colour.
  • Background image: upload a PNG, JPG, GIF or WebP (up to 5 MB). Choose Fill to cover the badge (edges may be cropped), Fit to show the whole image, or Stretch to match the badge exactly. Lower the Image opacity if the names are hard to read. Transparent areas show the background colour.
  • Reset design to defaults undoes all design changes. Your names, logo and background image are kept.

Print & PDF

  • Pages are A4. The app fits as many badges per page as it can and turns the page to portrait when that fits more. The preview header shows the layout, e.g. 2 columns × 2 rows (4 per page).
  • Print: in the print dialog keep Scale: 100% and Margins: None. Chrome and Edge pick the page orientation automatically; in Firefox or Safari choose it to match the preview.
  • Download PDF: saves a ready-to-print name-tags.pdf. It needs an internet connection the first time.
  • Use the Zoom menu above the preview to look closer. It does not affect printing.
